Global politics is shifting. From increasing right-wing political activities around the world to rising anti-Western sentiments in America’s enemies, politics is becoming more heated by the day. The smartest thing that anyone can do in such a tense time period is be educated. This project helps do just that by explaining how the Soviet Union expanded its influence throughout Latin America during the Cold War through military aid, trade agreements, infrastructure support, and political alliances, while comparing these strategies to China’s currently growing influence in the region.
